Rockstar bringing portable overhead actioner to Apple's tablet with HD makeover next week for $10.
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars certainly achieved substantial critical success upon its initial release for the DS in March 2009. However, Rockstar Games' overhead action adventure proved not to be a commercial juggernaut like its console cousins, with Nintendo calling sales of the game "frustrating."Since then, Rockstar spread of the game 'S to reach the PSP and iPhone, and now publisher of adding another platform to mix, Apple' S IPAD.
The Triad's blood will flow in gripping HD next week.
In a post to its blog this week, Rockstar confirmed that an iPad-specific version of GTA: Chinatown Wars will arrive on Apple's App Store September 9. Like the iPhone version, Chinatown Wars for the iPad will carry a $9.99 price tag.
However, just because it's the same price doesn't mean Rockstar hasn't made some improvements to the iPad game. In addition to the tweaks made to the iPhone version, such as a multi-touch user interface and adjusted difficulty levels, the iPad version has been given an HD makeover, bringing with it crisper, high-definition graphics.

Eufloria, the "ambient game of space exploration and conquest that employs surprising themes of plant growth and bio mechanical evolution," will be making its way to iPad, iPhone, and Mac in Spring of 2011. Developers Alex May and Rudolf Kremers have partnered with the Omni system, and tuna , who will be handling the ports of the twenty-five level strategy game, which was originally released for PC in 2009. A PSN version is already in the works for 2011 as well.

Halfbrick has announced the impending release of Fruit Ninja HD, the upgraded version of its highly successful iPhone game. Built for iPad, Fruit Ninja HD will allow you to cut, slash and tear producing up to 8 fingers once with a nice, updated image.

A free update to the iPhone and iPod touch rendition of Street Fighter IV is now available through the iTunes App Store, bringing two additional characters into the mix. Cammy and Zangief are your two playable newcomers, joining Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, Abel, and M. Bison.
The iPhone and iPod touch game is also playable on, but not optimized for, iPad.
The comic book giant has inked deals with the PlayStation Network and comiXology, which brings digital comics to the PSP (and MediaGo on PC), as well as the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The digital comics sport tiered pricing, ranging from $0.99 to $2.99. PSP owners will just need to download the new firmware update (6.20) first, and then "select the 'Digital Comics' icon under the 'Extras' column on PSP's XMB menu."

A group of Taiwanese scholars are asking Foxconn Technology Group to end what it calls its "rigid and inhumane" management style at its massive manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, located in the southern part of China. The facility, which houses more than 300,000 people, has been under scrutiny after a string of suicides took place at the plant. Foxconn manufacturers iPods and iPads for Apple, and computers for Dell and Hewlett Packard.
Taiwanese scholars and labor activists have been critical of Foxconn's excessively fast assembly line and forced overtime policies. Foxconn has denied these allegations for years, but under pressure from business partners and the government, it recently announced two raises, more than doubling the basic worker pay in Shenzhen to 2,000 yuan ($293) per month.
Social scientist Yang You-ren at Taichung's Tunghai University began the Taiwan petition drive earlier this month in response to recent developments at Foxcoon. He and fellow academics say that they are appalled by Foxconn's labor policies. Read More

I 'm totally new to Objective-C and iPhone SDK and this book is the introduction I needed. I have read several books before this one about the same subject, but the skills required were too high, and I do not 't understand many of them. The author takes your hand and show you the basic concepts and iPad iPhone applications, and provides tools for deeper roots.
Each chapter is an application that you will code and understand. You LL 'also have access to videos that show the author or one of his assistants coding applications presented in this book.
iPhone and iPad development can easily become overwhelming, but as I read the book, I felt that the author knows how to teach, and he gave me confidence. In one, like me, who never saw a single line of Objective-C and above, 's golden.
Without this book, I stopped to learn about the iPhone / iPad applications, thinking that it was too complicated for me. I 'm now going to read one of the previous books I' t understand at first, very sorry that he 's not from the same author!
