Review: Simraceway S1 Steering Wheel screenshot

While I love the running game at times, I tend to prefer the arcade style simulation stricter. In other words, I'm not exactly looking for excuses to go out and buy a high end wheel will my bank account suplex. Fortunately, we have Dale on staff to handle most sims.

Sometimes, however, produces strange eventually find its way to me, which is more or less what happened with Ignite and Simraceway wheel steering technology SteelSeries S1 PC. If you are familiar with the unusual wheel speed Wireless Microsoft Xbox 360, you have an idea of ??what it really is.

I hope you like accelerometers

Unlike Microsoft mentioned the conference, Simeraceway S1 is not wireless. Which is a shame because the small form factor and portability of this unit are two of the most attractive. It must, however, make use of motion control.

To use this wheel, it soars as if you drive a real car (do not worry, it's light) and turn left or right. Accelerometers do the rest. Now, if you played

Mario Kart Wii

- especially with the Wii Wheel - you might be thinking about sad things. Rest assured, the SRW-S1 does not require the kind of on-the-top, exaggerated movements that emerged in that game.

In practice, the experience is what you expect from traditional flight as far as spin is concerned, although obviously there is no basis to support the arms and hands. Therefore, it takes some time getting used to at first. I can not see the races that recalcitrant using your controller of choice, but is more effective than one might think at first glance.

Shit, it's a lot of buttons

In fact, the SRW-S1 is overwhelming to watch a lover of the gallery as I do. As the name indicates the wheel is designed specifically for free-to-play Simraceway

. Given the nature of this game, not needs

be a lot of buttons, dials, and even some for good measure. thank you God, like the guy who always has to pause a game to remember the controls, you can go without having to remember most of these buttons. Cover functions such as changing the HUD, look left / right / back, asking a pit stop and honk. Regarding the dials, you have one to customize steering response, and two others for the treatment of assists.

feel sensitive keys and clicking satisfactory, and even the d-pad is pretty decent. A little on the sweet side, but still decent. I am less enthusiastic about the dials, especially the way they look - but do the job

handle, pallets, and the lights

Photo Photo Photo The SRW-S1 uses a comfortable rubber grip. There are small slits in the two loops to rest your thumbs on which I appreciate. A word of warning, however: those with small hands may have problems with the design. As a type of two meters high, with what I like to think they are medium to large hands that can barely reach the paddle back and buttons at the same time. This is not necessarily a huge problem, because it is not likely to be constantly hitting the buttons, but it is worth raising.
