League of Legends Championship Season Series 3

announced by Riot Games, running the first half of February 7 to April 20, the second part to follow on June 1 to August 31.

Last week saw the North American qualifying for season 3 of The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) launch. The 16 teams who participated through one of five places in the tournament.

Organized by Riot Games, North American qualifying followed by double elimination format consisting of four groups of four teams each. The teams finishing in the top two from each group went on win the support they compete in a best-of-three single elimination.
  • The first half of season three officially begins on February 7 and runs through April 20 with the second part to follow on June 1, August 31 At the end of the second half, the top teams from each division advance to the World Championship to compete for a prize that Riot Games has been described as "millions of dollars". The 16 teams are made up of eight teams and eight European Americans.
