Art Director Chris Perna said female hero idea is "interesting", but it is unlikely because of the negative trade implications.

Gears of War 3 playable characters brought women to the franchise for the first time, but it is unlikely that a woman would never be a character in the next.

This is according to Epic Games Art Director Chris Perna, who said

a Gears of War in the future with a female character title would have more potential sales.

    "It is certainly interesting, but I do not know," said Perna. "When you look at what is sold, it is difficult to justify something like that."
